Map Legend:
- EASY — Green icon, short distance, minimal elevation gain, no technical challenges.
- MODERATE — Orange icon, more than 5 miles, some elevation gain, and/or steep inclines.
- STRENUOUS — Red icon, more than 5 miles with considerable elevation gain, steep inclines, and/or technical challenges, such as rock scrambles or water crossings.
- LONG-DISTANCE — Black icon, more than 15 miles, covering a variety of terrain; intended for multi-day backpacking.
Trail Types:
- LOOP — a trail that begins and ends at the same point, taking you on a different route that circles back to the beginning of the trail.
- OUT & BACK — a trail that begins and ends at the same point but requires you to return on the same path you started on.
- POINT TO POINT — a one-way trail with different beginning and end points, often as part of a multi-day backpacking trail.
